Bruno Hurtado Gosálvez, born in Barcelona, began his musical training in cello, piano and music theory at the age of seven. He pursued studies at the Conservatori del Liceu as well as in Zurich, Bern and Trossingen (cello, basse de violon, viola da gamba and G-violone) and is currently principal cellist of the Franz Schubert Filharmonia.
He is one of the founders of the ensembles El Gran Teatro del Mundo, Ad Fontes and Protean Quartet, and collaborates regularly with groups such as Teatro di Cervelli, Il Fervore, Astrophil & Stella, Tamuz, La Guirlande, Infermi d’amore and others. He also performs with larger formations in the field of early and contemporary music, including the Freiburger Barockorchester, La Grande Chapelle and the Kölner Akademie.
