Avishai Chameides
interest in historical instruments and gut strings led him early on to historically informed performance practice and collaborations with musicians specialising in this field. He completed his Master’s degree at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, studying with Petra Müllejans and Mechthild Karkow. Other important influences during his studies included Kristin von der Goltz, Michael Schneider, Heidi Gröger, Dane Roberts and Jan van Hoecke.
As a chamber musician, Avishai Chameides is particularly active as the violist of the Noga Quartet, which won first prize at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition in 2015 and performs internationally. He also regularly performs with leading European chamber orchestras, including the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and Geneva Camerata.
Alongside his performing career, Avishai Chameides teaches chamber music at various conservatories in Italy.
