Niels Pfeffer studied basso continuo, harpsichord, guitar, and lute in Stuttgart, Freiburg, The Hague, and Basel. He was awarded a Germany Scholarship and an Excellence Scholarship, and his master’s theses received prizes. He teaches theorbo and works as a répétiteur on harpsichord and lute at various music universities, while also pursuing a doctoral degree at the Institute of Musicology at the University of Tübingen. A sought-after chamber music partner, he is regularly invited to perform with his instruments. Numerous recordings and competition successes document his work as a continuo player. Pfeffer has appeared on television and radio and has given concerts and masterclasses across Europe, as well as in Lebanon, Armenia, and Mexico.
